Tree surgeons · Built for the trade

Web design for tree surgeons, from £395

Tree work is bought in a hurry after a storm, or after three years of looking at the same conifer. Both customers start on Google and neither is helped by a list of services.

We build tree surgeons' sites with a page for each job, emergency call-outs up front, and your tickets and insurance stated plainly. We build for a Southampton firm that does tree care alongside landscaping.

The honest version

Tree work is bought in a hurry or after a lot of thought, and rarely in between

There are two kinds of customer for a tree surgeon. One has a problem today: a split limb, a tree leaning on a fence after a storm, a neighbour complaining. The other has been looking at an overgrown conifer for three years and has finally decided to get quotes. Both start on Google, and they need very different things from your site.

The first needs to see emergency call-outs, a number and a sign that somebody will answer. The second wants to know what the work involves, whether the tree can be reduced rather than removed, what happens to the waste, and whether you are qualified and insured to be up it with a chainsaw.

Most tree surgeons' sites serve neither. They list felling, crown reduction, pollarding and stump grinding in one paragraph and stop. The firms that win the work give each job its own page and answer the question the customer was actually asking.

What we build

What we would put on a tree surgeon's website

A page for each job, and the safety questions answered before they are asked.

Emergency call-outs

Its own page, with a number that can be tapped and honest hours. Written for somebody standing in the garden looking at the damage.

A page per kind of work

Felling, crown reduction and thinning, hedge cutting, stump grinding, site clearance. Each one explained in plain words, with photographs.

Tickets and insurance, stated

The certificates you hold, by name, and your public liability cover as a figure. Only what you can show.

Protected trees, explained

A short plain guide to Tree Preservation Orders and conservation areas, and what you do about them, so the customer does not have to guess.

Before, during and after

Tree work photographs well. A climber in the canopy and a tidy garden afterwards say more than any paragraph.

The area you really cover

Named towns and a sensible radius, so the enquiries you get are ones you can reach without losing half a day.

Proof

Direct Landscaping and Tree Care, Southampton

A firm we build for that does tree care alongside landscaping, live since September 2026.

Direct Landscaping and Tree Care

Live at directlandscapingandtreecare.co.uk, built and taken live by us in September 2026 and carrying our footer link. Tree care sits on the site next to landscaping, driveways and fencing, each with its own section, so a tree enquiry and a patio enquiry do not land in the same place.

We handled the domain side as well, including pointing a second domain the business already owned at the live site rather than leaving it stranded.

It is one client, and tree work is part of what they do rather than all of it. See every client we have live for the full list.

Getting found

The searches are specific, and so the pages should be

People do not search for arboricultural services. They search for tree surgeon and a town, tree removal, stump grinding, hedge cutting, or emergency tree surgeon at seven in the morning after a windy night. Each of those is a separate search, and a page that matches one of them exactly will usually beat a longer-established firm whose site mentions it once in a list.

The Google Business Profile matters a great deal for this trade, because the urgent searches are answered from the map before anybody scrolls down to the websites. We set it up as part of the £650 build, with the right categories and your real service area, and on a care plan we keep it accurate. Our guide to Google Business Profile for trades explains what that involves.

Tree work is seasonal as well. Hedge and reduction work has its busy months and storm work arrives without warning, so a site that can be updated quickly, with a line on the home page when you are taking emergency calls, earns its keep.

How it works

Built first, paid for second

Tell us about the business and within 48 hours you get a link to a real working site built for it. If it is not right, say so and you owe us nothing. There is no card, no deposit and no call to sit through.

A solid site covering your main work is £395. £650 buys a real page for each kind of job and your Google Business Profile set up, which for tree work is usually where the return is. £1,200 is for a larger firm needing something closer to a system. You own it either way, and the build can be split across three payments within twelve months at the same price.

Care plans start at £45 a month, have no minimum term and are optional. Full pricing is here.

Questions

What tree surgeons ask us

Most of my calls come after a storm. Can a website help with emergency work?

It helps more with emergency work than with anything else. Somebody with a limb on the garage roof searches on a phone, in a hurry, and rings the first firm that clearly does emergency call-outs and clearly answers. That means a page that says so in the heading, a number that can be tapped, your hours stated honestly and a line about making the site safe first. A general services page will not come up for that search and would not win the call if it did.

Should I explain protected trees and conservation areas on the site?

Yes, briefly and in plain words. Many homeowners do not know that a tree covered by a Tree Preservation Order, or one standing in a conservation area, needs the council to be told or to give permission before work starts. A short page saying that you check this and can handle the application if the customer wants you to is reassuring, and it is one of the questions people really do type into Google. Keep it general and point people to their own council for the rules where they live.

Do my tickets and insurance need to be on the website?

They are the most important thing on it. Tree work is dangerous and customers know it, so they look for proof that you are trained and covered. Name the certificates you hold and state your public liability cover as a figure rather than the word insured. We only ever publish what you give us and can show, so if a ticket is being renewed it stays off the site until it is back.

I do tree work and some landscaping. One site or two?

One site, with the two sides kept apart on it. The person who needs a dangerous ash taken down and the person who wants a new fence are different customers at different speeds, and each should land on a page written for them. We have a separate page on websites for landscaping firms that also do tree work if the garden side is the larger part of your business.

Do you build for tree surgeons already?

We build for one firm that does tree care alongside landscaping: Direct Landscaping and Tree Care in Southampton, live on their own domain since September 2026. We do not have a client who does tree surgery and nothing else, and we would rather say that than dress it up.
