Plastering and rendering · Built for the trade

Web design for plasterers, from £395

A flat wall is hard to photograph and easy to underrate. We build plastering websites around before and after pairs, plain answers about mess and drying, and a quote request that gives you the room sizes.

The honest version

Good plastering is invisible, which is the problem

When a plasterer does the job well, there is nothing to look at. The wall is flat, the corners are sharp, the ceiling has no lines in it, and a decorator paints over the lot. That makes plastering one of the hardest trades to sell with a picture, and it is why so many good plasterers rely entirely on word of mouth and a phone full of photographs nobody else sees.

Word of mouth is the best work there is, and a website will not replace it. What a website does is catch the other half: the homeowner who has just had a rewire and needs the chases made good, the couple who have pulled off wallpaper and found the wall coming with it, the landlord with a water-damaged ceiling. They do not know a plasterer. They search, they look at two or three, and they ring the one who looks like they will turn up and leave the house clean.

So the job of a plasterer's website is to make careful work visible and to answer the worries a customer has before they let someone mix plaster in their hallway.

What we build

What goes on a plasterer's website

The pieces we would build in, and why each one is there.

Before and after, side by side

Pairs, not a loose gallery. The wall as you found it next to the wall as you left it, grouped by job: skims, ceilings, patch repairs, rendering.

Services in the customer's words

Skimming, plasterboarding, artex removal or skim over, ceilings, damp repair, rendering. Named the way a homeowner names them, with a line each on what is involved.

How you look after the house

Dust sheets, floor protection, where you mix, how you leave it at the end of the day. For a domestic customer this is half the decision.

What happens after you leave

Drying times, when it can be painted, what a mist coat is. A short plain guide that stops the same five phone calls.

A quote request with room sizes

Which rooms, walls or ceilings or both, rough sizes, a photograph upload and a postcode. You can price a straight skim from that without a visit if you choose to.

The area you travel

Towns named in full. Plastering is local work, and saying where you go is what puts you in front of someone in that town.

Where we stand

We have not built for a plasterer yet

No client of ours plasters for a living, so there is no name on this page.

  • We do build for other trades whose customers judge the finish: decorators, joiners and landscapers. Those clients are named on their own pages and on our work page.
  • What this page says about plastering comes from building preview sites for plasterers and the conversations around them, not from running a live one.
  • That is why the preview matters. You see a real page for your business before any money changes hands, and you judge that instead of a claim.
Getting found

The searches a plasterer can win

"Plasterer near me" is the obvious one, and the map results for it are driven mostly by your Google Business Profile: how complete it is, how close you are, and your reviews. The website backs that up. Google reads it to confirm what you do and where, and customers click through to it to decide between you and the next name.

The searches worth more are the specific ones. Artex removal. Ceiling repair after a leak. Plastering after a rewire. Rendering a garden wall. Each of those is typed by someone with a job ready to go, and a page that answers that exact question has far less competition than the general term. On a full site we write one for each kind of work you want more of.

We do not promise a position on Google. What we do is build the site so it loads quickly on a phone, says clearly what you do and where, and matches your Business Profile, which is the part within anyone's control. There is more on the profile itself in our Google Business Profile guide for trades.

Who it is for

Domestic, contract, or both

A plasterer who works mainly for builders and one who works mainly for homeowners need different things from the same site. The builder wants to know you can cover a full house, turn up on the programme and carry your own insurance. The homeowner wants to know the carpet will survive.

We ask which you want more of and weight the site that way. If it is both, the home page splits early: one route for homeowners with the before and after work and the care-of-the-house detail, one for trade and contract enquiries with capacity, the size of job you take on and how to get a price for a whole plot.

Specialist work gets its own space as well. Lime plastering, cornice repair and heritage work are searched for by people who have already been told a standard skim is wrong for their house. If you do it, it deserves more than a bullet point.

How it works

A preview first, then a price you already know

Tell us the business name and send a handful of photographs. In 48 hours you have a link to a working page for your plastering business. Nothing is owed if you do not want it.

A single-page site with your work, services, area and a quote form is £395. £650 is a full site with a page for each type of work, which is the one that can be found for artex removal or rendering on their own. Larger builds with custom functionality start at £1,200. Any build can be split into three payments within twelve months at the same price.

Care plans are optional and start at £45 a month, with no minimum term.

Questions

What plasterers ask us

A skimmed wall looks like a blank wall in a photo. How do you show it?

With light and with a before. Plastering photographs well when the light rakes across it from a window or a work lamp, because that is when a flat wall looks flat. Pair each one with the wall as you found it: blown plaster, artex, a chased-out rewire. Two pictures side by side tell the story a single finished shot cannot. We will go through what you have on your phone and choose the ones that hold up.

Most of my work is for builders, not homeowners. Is a website worth having?

If you are happy with the builders you have, perhaps not, and we would tell you that. Where it earns its keep is when a contractor you have not worked with looks you up before ringing, or when you want more direct domestic work at your own price. A simple site with your services, your photographs and your insurance stated is enough for both.

Should I list rendering separately from plastering?

Yes, if you do both. Someone looking for a silicone render or a pebbledash repair is searching for a different thing from someone who wants two bedrooms skimmed, and the jobs are worth different money. On a full site each gets its own page with its own photographs and its own explanation of what is involved.

Do customers care about drying times and all the detail?

More than you might think. The most common questions after the price are how long before it can be painted, how much mess there will be and whether the room needs emptying. Answering those on the site saves you saying it on every call, and it makes you look like someone who has done this many times.

I have never had a website. What do you need from me?

Your trading name, the areas you cover, the kinds of work you take on, and whatever photographs are on your phone. We write the words from a short conversation and you correct anything we get wrong. The preview is built before you pay, so you see what your information turns into first.
