The London trades we build for
Nobody in Orpington searches for a roofer in London. They search for a roofer in Bromley, or Petts Wood, or just near me. The outer boroughs are where the owner-run trades live, in the interwar semis of Bexley, Havering and Harrow, and each borough is a market on its own.
Roofers and loft conversions
Mile after mile of 1930s semis in the outer boroughs means hip-to-gable lofts, dormers and tired original roofs. Search a roofer in Bromley or Croydon and Checkatrade alone has pages of them. A homeowner flicking through that list decides on photos. Your site has to show a finished dormer on a street that looks like theirs, and say which boroughs you really cover.
Electricians and heating engineers
Rewires, consumer units, EV chargers and boiler swaps. The work is steady but the customer rarely knows your name, so they ring whoever answers first. Your number, your WhatsApp and a line on how soon you can come out need to sit at the top of every screen, because on a phone in Croydon nobody scrolls far.
Builders and extension firms
Rear extensions and kitchen knock-throughs are the bread and butter from Sidcup to Pinner. The customer is spending real money and is nervous about it. A page per borough you work in, with jobs from that borough, beats one page that says Greater London and hopes.

What you are actually up against in London
Type roofer Bromley or electrician Croydon into Google and you are not competing with a few local names. You are competing with Checkatrade, MyBuilder, TrustATrader and Bark, each with a page for your borough and pages of trades listed on it. Under that sit the bigger London-wide firms with a location page for every borough they have ever driven through.
The way through is to stop trying to rank for London. Pick the three or four boroughs you really work in, give each one a proper page with your own jobs on it, and get your Google Business Profile tied to where you are based. You will never outspend the directories on the whole city. You can beat them on Orpington, or Hornchurch, where their page is just a list.

It is built for the phone first, because that is where people look a business up. Every page is written by hand, so there is no page builder weighing it down, and your number, your WhatsApp and your quote form sit on every screen.
What happens once the site is live?
That is up to you. If you want us to keep looking after it, that is a care plan, at £45, £85 or £150 a month, and you can stop whenever you like. What each plan covers is on the care plan page.
You are not in London. Why would a Bromley or Romford firm use you?
Fair question. We are in Southampton, and we will never be round for a cup of tea. What we do instead is build your actual site before you commit, send you the link, and talk it through on the phone or a video call. If it is not better than what you have, you walk away and owe nothing. Plenty of trades prefer that to a London agency with a meeting room and a retainer.
