Web design in Cambridge

We are not in Cambridge. We are in Southampton, and we work with Cambridge businesses by phone, video and WhatsApp. You see the site we have built for you before you pay, so there is nothing to take on trust.

Most sites we replace in Cambridge are slow, five years old, and built on a template the owner cannot edit. We write ours from scratch so there is nothing to bloat it.

What you actually get

A website that does one job: get the phone to ring

No jargon. Here is what actually lands in your hands when you go ahead.

  • Live on your own domain, with the email and DNS moved for you
  • No page builder and no bought theme, so there is nothing in it to slow it down
  • One clear price up front. Builds from £395, and shops or apps are quoted on the job
  • Every page written by hand, so it loads in under two seconds on 4G
  • Photos of your own work, sized properly so they do not crawl on mobile
  • Your number, your WhatsApp and your quote form on every single screen

Who we build for here

The Cambridge businesses we build for most

Cambridge is small, crowded and has a science and tech economy far bigger than the city. That makes for demanding customers, independent shops that fight for every visitor, and trades who could fill their diary twice over.

Mill Road and neighbourhood independents

Mill Road is lined with independent food shops, cafes and specialist stores, and Romsey Town and Chesterton have their own high streets. Customers here are used to good websites at work and expect the same from you. A site that loads fast and answers the obvious questions gets taken seriously.

Trades in the city and the villages

Builders, roofers and kitchen fitters in Cambridge tend to work Trumpington, Cherry Hinton and villages like Histon and Milton as much as the city. Good trades are hard to book, so the customer uses your site to decide if you are worth waiting for. Show the finished jobs and say when you are next free.

Services around the science parks

Cambridge Science Park and the Biomedical Campus bring in companies that need cleaners, caterers, fit-out firms, IT support and more. Those buyers check you online before they ever call. A clear, current site with the services you offer and who you have the right insurance and accreditations for is the entry ticket.

What you are up against

What you are actually up against in Cambridge

Cambridge customers research hard. They read reviews, compare three sites and notice when yours was built ten years ago. The directories are there as usual, but the real competition is the handful of local firms with sites that look as good as their work. Those firms get the calls without trying.

Matching them is not about spending more. It is a fast site, photos of real jobs in real Cambridge streets, and the villages you cover named plainly. In a city where people will wait for the right trade, looking like the right trade is most of the battle.

Straight answer

Who we have actually built for near Cambridge

Fair question on a page like this: have we actually done any of it near here. Here is the closest live client to Cambridge we can put a name to.

PK Removals, Leicester

A Leicester removals firm with 61+ five-star Yell reviews. The site puts that rating up front, gives house moves, piano work and long-distance jobs their own pages, adds six town pages for local search, and is wired with click-to-call so an enquiry is one tap.

Leicester is 61 miles from Cambridge in a straight line.

Live on their own domain at pkremovals.uk, and we have written the whole job up: read the PK Removals case study.

You can check the rest the same way: our work page names every live client and the town they trade in, and labels every concept build as a concept, so you can tell at a glance which is which.

Questions

Web Design in Cambridge: three questions we get asked

How long until it is live?

You see a real preview of your own site inside 48 hours. From the point you say yes, a small site is usually live inside a week, and most of that week is waiting on your photos and your domain login rather than on us.

What happens once the site is live?

That is up to you. If you want us to keep looking after it, that is a care plan, at £45, £85 or £150 a month, and you can stop whenever you like. What each plan covers is on the care plan page.

I already have more work than I can take. Why would I need a better site?

So you can choose the jobs. A site that shows the work you want more of, in the areas you want to work, filters out the enquiries you would turn down anyway. We build it and you see the preview before you pay. We are not in Cambridge, so it is all done by phone and WhatsApp, which suits a trade who is on site all day.
